Default how much fuel psi should i be running?

so i have an ls/vtec with a b18a1 block, b16 head. i was wondering how many PSI i should be running in my lsvtec set up. my fuel pressure gauge that is running on my AEM fuel rail says 50 psi when i have the car stop and turned off. if i pop the hood right after i have turned it on it consistently says 50psi

Now i was reading that the standard PSI running on B16 head is 42 PSI is this correct?

So what does it read with the engine running? It doesn't matter what pressure you read with the engine off. It could say 200, but if it's at 2 with the engine "running" it isn't gonna do you any good.

As for 42 PSI at idle with the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose removed & pinched/plugged shut, that's okay. 50 PSI isn't bad either though. I personally had a build I ran at 50 PSI with no problems. Only "problem" you'd come across (if you can even keep your foot off the gas to find out a true reading) is a decrease in fuel "economy" over running a lower 42 PSI. But not a significant difference.

it does read 50 psi at idle too, and thats basically what i was wondering about was the fuel economy.

And off subject i couldnt help but notice HONDA LUVR 2000 your from canton oh, im actually from east liverpool right down the road.

but anyways thanks for the reply. i didnt really want to mess with it, i just wondered if it would cause any long term issues.
