h22 roller cams ??? ferrea/crane etc. leave vtec function or remove it
first off i was looking on ferreas web site and they say to disconect the vtec function when using their roller cams ????second i would like to ask anyone who is familiar with this setup to post/pm me i am looking to buy a new set of turbo cams for the ferrea roller rocker assembly and got a few questions ...
What do you use too block off the Vtec noid? I have been trying too remove it, but cant figure out what too put there?
You can leave the stock solenoid valve or buy a block off plate from Web Cams. They are pretty mint too! Not sure if it fits the H or not.... I'm not familiar with the H-series.

That QSD piece is nice and not to knock it or anything but if your only going to have bumpsticks with high lobes then its just a show piece if your that concerned or worried about how it looks under there I just can't see myself dishing out $45 bucks plus shipping for a piece of aluminum I could make myself. I also think your asking the wrong people for info on this, You should be speaking to your machinist/headman(Depending on who does your machine work and porting) If not hey it doesn't hurt to give a call to a cam company and see who will work with you to produce a set of roller cams to work for your engine combo.
I think Chris did well enough answering the guys question. We've put in some time to make a pretty cool plate that does more then just look cool. We had the back machined to fit the OEM rubber seal to prevent any kind of leaks, since we all hate oil leaks. Ive ran a couple setups along some of our customers with no solenoid with no problems.
thanx for the input ,,but i think a couple people are taking my question the wrong way even though i am glad to see this block off plate.....my question is geared towards the mechanics of eliminating the vtec function ..ive seen/heard people eliminate/disconect the function when running these cams.the cam company also recomends doing this..just wondering why..if that makes any sense
