How much shutdown does your home track have?
Probably more than mine...

Dude managed to stop just six inches short of the beach.

Well of the three tracks we go to (England):
Avon Park: Really good long bit of space (ex-runway) - well over a 1.4 mile after the finish line - slower cars have an exit road, faster cars carry on to the end. They run track days / driving experiences (Ferrari's, Lambo's etc) on the run off area so there is plenty of space.
York Raceway: Fairly similar, the first turn off is quite close after the line so heavy braking is often required, plenty of space to slow down afterwards.
Santa Pod: Again good amount of slow down space, first turn off is sufficient for 99% of RWYB cars, there is another exit road further down - then you hit a large bumpy muddy field (as a few pro-mod cars have managed when their parachutes have failed!)
Overall run-off in the UK is really good, all of our drag strips are on old WW2 air bases so there is generally tonnes of space!

Barona Drag Strip (the one in the video) is getting pressure from the neighbors too, but it's located on the Barona indian reservation, so they can just tell them to go pound sand.
looks like the indians need to cash in more on opening some new drag strips HA! **** the people who came AFTER the drag strip was running. My shut down at my track is at least a half mile...
OK, here's a track far worse than mine, at least for Pro Mods...

How are the 'encroachment' issues there? Do the people who live near your drag strips endlessly complain about the noise like they do here? We've lost all but two of the quarter-mile dragstrips still left in Southern California thanks to neighbors bitching about them, so my closest 1/4 mile track is more than 150 miles away...

I just wish the same could be said of some of the circuits over here - people choose to move next to a race track and THEN complain about the noise. Frickin a-holes!
We've been pretty lucky over here! The three primary tracks in England are pretty isolated and have been established for much longer than 99.9% of the local residents have lived near them so we have had no real issues with noise etc. No noise limits on any of the strips either which is nice!

Also, there will be no arms to drive around at level railroad crossings - that money will be spend instead to reinforce the fronts of locomotives.
