Default J swap vs h2b?

Ok well im seriously thinking about getting back into the game ive been out for over 2yrs now an after going to the east coast meet again im thinking about getting another hatchback. But i wanna do something different seems like everyone is doing K swaps an i wanna be different from people in my area so im thinking either j32 type s swap or h2b swap. My goal for this is to have an easy mid 12sec street car, but hey if it runs faster then thats fine with me. Both swaps should get you low 13's high 12's depending on how you drive. It will be a full chasis car no gutting or anything. I beleive both swaps cost around the same but j series makes alot more power but its just a traction issue with them. I need some opinions on this... If i did J swap it was be intake,header,3inch exhaust,p2r plenum an vafc..... that should get me around 260+whp mark with loads of tq as for h2b im not too fond of bolt ons for H series...

BTW if i did J swap it would be going into a ek hatch to clear hood.....but if i did h2b it would be going into an EG hatch.

Both setups are great. J32's are nice but the aftermarket support isnt really there yet. H2b is great, tons of aftermarket support. Maybe even a G23 if you want to build something from the ground up. Search Bolis Built for more info. just do some research on the forums there are tons of H2b build and J32 builds on here see which one fits your personal preference. Good luck with your build!

I've always had this fond idea of building a Comptech supercharged J series EK.

I say J series is the way to go, but that is just my opinion.

I was completely unaware that is what it was. I wondered why I didn't have to pay a dime.

The issue was 6speed issues. that was an issue. if you put a jseries in a civic and took it in and said hey the trans is messing up. do you think they are going to honor the TSB?

The auto that is found on the tl-s is a piece of trash. it had the same issues as the accords.

To the op NO a jseries swap is not the same price as an h series. not even an h2b. you can pick up a long block h22 for 900-1100 depending on mileage/year. h2b kit 1000, b16 trans 6-1000, mount kit 300. so at most 3400 dollars for the big stuff.

you will need custom axles, wiring, mounts, etc etc etc. the h2b would be cheaper and easier. if you wanted a manual tl-s you would have to track down an accord 6spd or some bs.

then you have to cut a hole in your hood to make it all fit.....no

I did my j swap for between 3-4k...

Some places will honor it as long as you have the vin etc, and some won't... i guess it depends who you know at honda/acura
