hey guys, I have a question.

I currently own a 1988 HF and 1991 Si. I'm a fairly large guy at 6'6" 280lbs. So headroom is an issue for me. In my HF I have plenty of headroom. My head doesn't touch the roof when driving. Well the Si is another situation. the sunroof drops the headliner down waaay too much. So obviously the thing to do was eliminate the sunroof. Well that was easy.

Anyways, after doing that it was a HUGE improvement in headroom. But I'm still not there compared to the HF.

So my questions to you guys...

... are the Si/HF seats that much different?
... are there any lower seat rails I can buy?
... what are the lowest possible "OEM seats" that I can buy for this car with swapping the rails? (ie del sol, s2000, hf, etc?)

Weird, my buddy is like 6'9 400 lbs and he fits in his 91 Si np lol.

I'd like to know about the shorter rails though, I hate how high my hatch seats sit

 

Does he sit in the spare tire well?

 

I bought the JDM seats for my 91 CRX HF. They were a difficult install. The bottom pan of the seat cushion did not match my floor pan. I had to modify (cut steel and weld) the bottom of the new seats to match the car. I just couldn't cut the CRX.

I'm 6'2-6'3 and I'm having the same problem with my Si.
I like that sunroof delete; I'm contemplating doing that.

EDIT: After checking the factory specs on headroom, deleting the sunroof only adds 0.30 inches. Also, the roof will still have the "stamped" out edges towards the interior, unless they are removed.

I came across a post that claimed del Sol seats were the lowest OEM seat, but I'm unsure to the accuracy of this claim. Any input anyone has will help!

 

wow...im 6 ft 4..but i weigh bout 195. ppl always ask why i drive such a small car. im rather comfy in my si. sunroof not a problem. but im thinkin if your a tall *** dood AND big as a ****?..maybe an ef isnt such a good choice of wheels lol

 

Guys....has anyone thought of just re-doing the bottom padding on the seat? Anyone that can reupholster, can change out the bottom padding to accomodate....possibily.
