i got a 00 si & i just dropped in a poor mans type R in & it does the same thing!!! i just changed the rotor & cap on the distributor. it starts in the morning when it's cold but when i drive it, it dies & wont wanna start? im really confused & dont know where to start
yup could be the main relay, mine did the clicking and even died on me once while driving too. Got a relay from advance for $40 bucks, changed it, It was all good, didnt have that problem again...and make sure you have good ground from the engine to the chassis too
My friend had the same problem. turned out to be a grounding issue with the Ground Terminal on the battery. check that and all other grounds. good luck!
BINGO! Check your thermostat grounds, engine/batt ground wires, and if all else fails splice a new ground in for the main relay.
aite this is whats up i just checked all my grounds and powers and i seemed to be good i took like 5 main relays and some off DAs and i tryed them out one got it to start but then it would die right away the others would not let the car crank over and they started to click like crazy so my question is since my car was a std model dx wich came dpfi do i have to have a main relay maybe off an si to run the ls i have in the car cus all the main relays that i took were from other dpfi

check the ground with a multimeter from the the relay to the negative battery post (u might need a long lead) and it should not have more than .03 v of resistance.... if u think its a ground problem... when a relay click it is being energized so thats what the clicking is... u can also use a jumper to check if its the relay
aite guys i checked my grounds and i got a good relay and i put it on and it started up but after like 6 sec. it died out and did the same thing and started clicking like crazy
