im planning on building a motor soon...heres what i plan on building

b16a2 out of a 99 si

eagle rods with j.e 11:1 or 12:1 pistons ( whats your opinion)

bored .20 over

supertech valve train and skunk 2 cams

ported head

skunk 2 intake manni.

act clutch

hondata s300 (not 100% on it yet though)

hasport mounts

70mm tb

rc injectors

hytech header

my goal is to reach close to 200hp then put a 100 shot on it...how does this build sound? anything else i should get ?

 

Sounds like a pretty standard money bleeding A/M build to me.

But you won't get close to 200whp with 11.1 OS pistons in a B16. If you're scared of the c/r you should consider a blockguard, assuming you can, when you're honing at the machine shop while going for the 12.1's. Consider your headgasket options too. In fact, just buy a standard 3-layer OEM HG and remove the middle layer, it's basically the same specs as Spoon/Mugen without spending the money.

 

im not scared of the cr i just dont want to go over 12.5:1

with the parts i have listed what do you think a realistic power number would be ?

 

which skunk2 cams? those will make a big difference on what power out put will be. also Iv seen a few people say that the hy tech rep isn't very good for a b16, look into a s.p. toda replica header, thats gonna be your best bet for making power.

 

what kind of port you planning on? dont forget the micropolished crank!

 

Then why'd you ask for our opinions on pistons if you're cool with 12.1; obviously it'll yield more power?
With the 11.1s I am semi-confident in saying 181.5whp
