slick and skinnys questions.
well here is my problem and i really need some help here. I recently purchased a set of slicks and skinnys and the rears (skinnys) did not come with tires. so i purchased some and took them to get mouted balanced bla bla bla. well i have tried everything i know to get them to pop up on the "bead" and i have had no luck. they do hold air but they definatly are not up on the bead so i can not balance them, there really isnt a performance shop close that does mounting balancing of slicks and skinnys. i purchased the tires from jegs and one of them has small cracks that look like small spiders on the sidewalls when you put a bit of air in them. i know slicks will leak air around the bead but i figured the skinnys would mount up like a normal tire.
does anyone have any tips or tricks to help me?
do you think jegs will honor a return/replacement for the one that has the cracks?
the only way to see them is to put air in them.
i dont want them to say i did it trying to mount them and be out $125 but there is no way to see them until you get air in them.

but i cant get the tire to come up all the way. it looks like the inner part of the tire still needs to come up and sit where its supposed to
I've had to put up to 110 psi in some at times. If you don't want to go that high try putting them in the sun for bout an hour. The hotter the day the better.

The place that mounted the tires on mine was the same way. Those you bought off me and my new skinnies were the same way had to put a lot of psi in them and sat them out in the sun for over an hour and if finally popped. not sure why they do that don't know if the sidewall is too stiff or what.
well i got them to pop. i let them bake in the sun for about 2 or 3 hours. then pumped them up to a little over 80psi and then pop they went. i am glad its 85* and sunny so im sure that is the reason they they finally went. thanks H-T for the advice.
I use on my slick before I mount it in the rims I put some liquid soap the brand is dawn I pour some inside the slicks the spread it around the inside of the wheel to clog all open pores to prevent them
from leaking my slicks don't leak at all I can leave them for days

some of the old guys at my local track were talking about this the other day some say they put a lil bit of light fluid around the bead and light it and it pops the bead
