Default NO VTEC h22a4

. The bottom end is a 99 h22 and the top head is a 95 h22 . i have a inline proformance head gasket for lower compression. i checked the oil pressure on the bottom end and its fine, but i have no pressure at the vtec switch. oil comes up cause when its running i can take the oil cap off and oil is coming up. and its been driving like this for 5 months. when i put the new head and gasket on it never worked after that. is the 95 head the same as the 99? i have done all tests and changed any minor thingsi.e switch, wiring etc any ideas why its not working?

Which ECU are you using? OBD I or OBDII? That could possibly be part of your problem.

the head gasket you have, was it made for a 97+ or a 93-96? there is a difference.

You need the '95 headgasket design, if you're using a 5th gen headgasket, that could be your problem......

I think heads are the same, but blocks are different. How are you measuring oil pressure at the head? It could be a bad pressure sensor telling the ecu you don't have enough pressure. Is the VTEC solenoid assembly the one off the head that used to work? Are all the oil control orifices in the head? There is one for each rocker arm shaft and one for the whole head.
