Is it possible to swap in a d16a6 and still use my old DPFI. I found a good d16a6 and transmission that im going to swap in but dont have the time to wire for mpfi my car is a Civic Std. with d15b1. Will the d16 run with the DPFI system in place for a while ?

 

Yes, see if you can switch over to the D15B2 ECU, I believe that is the least conservative DPFI ECU.

i've seen it done before. It should work with no problems but doesnt it take a weekend to do the mpfi swap? I would that and just finish the whole swap and enjoy the bump in power

 

That's true, and I actually have about a half a dozen Z6 manifolds laying around my garage I'm about to send to be melted down for $$

It shouldn't be much, but unfortunately I won't be seeing the inside of my garage till July 1st. Good news is between 0701-0713 I will either be selling everything I have or sending to be recycled, I have too many spare parts laying around that won't be necessary once I move.

 

I did the mpfi swap in 2 hours. Find someone to help you do it. Why waste time the the dpfi? WTF Its literally adding 2 fuel injector wires and 2 distributor wires, and switching a few others.
