Default just a random question i been thinkin about (car length vs. qtr mile seconds) This is

i kno there are variable to b considered here, but if u had to guess, how many car lengths would
ppl b seperated by with a 1 second difference in time. ex...car #1 runs a 16.0 and car #2 runs a
15.0, what would u say the distance between the cars would be...cuz i ran my buddy last week at
the local track and got a 15.8 and he, believe it or not had a 16.8 lol. from what i remember our trap
speed was only 3-5 mph different and he was about 2 cars behind last i looked at him, sound right?

^^ what he said. if you would have sat at the light for 1 second after he left and he left on a perfect reaction time. you could have ran the crossed at the same time even though you had a faster slip. your ET does NOT start until you leave the line. not when the bottom light comes on.

Not really. It depends on if the track is updated to have .000 or .500 as a perfect light but you should shoot for less than .1 over a perfect light as a beginner. I grew up around bracket racing though were a .040 is late.
