Other than exhaust and intake, is there anything else available for improving the power of a D16 in a 96 CX?... or is a swap as good as it gets... after reading a pile of stuff on B20 swaps, that sounds real tempting right now (I need more torque!).

 

a swap would definetly be your best bet for long term.

 

best bang for buck is a tranny swap, u can use a 96-00 ex trans or a 92-95 si/ex tranny. u can also do a mini-me (bolt on a sohc vtec head). the d-series isn't a total loss to work on so its really up to u if u wanna do a swap go for it if u wanna stick with the d-series there are plenty of upgrades for them as well.

d series vtec are nice !! cheaper 2 buy and get parts for !! only one cam ETC
and can be pretty fast 2 !!!!!!!!!

 

there is alot of ways to give it power you have many options... just as many as any B-series IMO
