well i just picked up a 91 hatch with a b20b swap in it. Im looking to go ahead and rebuild the engine because i dont trust what the guy told me about it. im not having any luck finding a rebuild kit for this motor online unless kits for other engines work with this one...i just wanna do re ring, bearings, and all the gaskets....also it has a ls head on it does that hurt the engine in any way?? is it worth the money to do arp rod bolts and head studs if i dont plan on boosting it or running n2o?

The B20B comes with an LS head. They are the same thing.
Dont worry about the bolts. and B20/18 is the same gaskets for the most part
go OEM or Ebay.
I prefer OEM

 

so i can buy a ls gasket set and most will fit? what about the water pump and oil pump? ive seen re ring sets and bearing sets on ebay but not a complete overhaul kit...

 

just buy another b20b

hmm well at least if i rebuild it ill know the engine is good then not takin a chance on another used jdm engine....i found a re ring set for 45 bucks and a bearing set for 65 bucks but i cant find a gasket set but ill prob just buy the one for the ls and see what all fits...thanx for the help


another question tho will a gsr obd2 distributor running on the engine make it run weird like idle wise??? it ides funny and is throwing a code for it and dosent seem to have any power...its converted to obd1 at the ecu and is running a p75 ecu but has a obd0 to obd2 distributor jumper harness and is running the gsr dizzy...any advice??

 

im pretty sure you need a obd1 dizzy

 

ok well on ebay they have full master rebuild kit for the b20b4 and the b20z2...which one of these is gonna work right on my b20b?
