I have recently switched to amsoil and I really like it a lot. With mobil 1, I would lose over a quart every 3000miles, with amsoil the oil consumption is less than half a quart.

your quaker state is fine.... the interval of the oil change is more important than the specific brand per se... even regular non synthetic dino oil will suffice as long as you adhere to frequent/strict oil change/maintenance schedules... I use Mobil 1 and I change my oil every 3K.. some might say its excessive or whatever but since I do the change myself it doesn't cost too much, only takes me about 20 minutes to do an oil and filter change and I don't mind any added cost or anything to treat my motor well...

If your going to use normal oil, I suggest Castrol GTX. Works great

I recently switched to Amsoil also and I am pleased with it. If your engine is newer (or in really good condition) I'd recommend using the 0w30. I've seen older engines burn 0w30 pretty quickly because the viscosity is so low but it will help lubricate all the little **** which is good when you're engine is seeing high rpms. I used to use Valvoline race oil.. its all good. Although the amsoil you don't have to change as often.. i think they rate it at 20k miles. I'll probably change it at 10k just to be safe.

That's what I use. I was using Mobil 1 but felt it was unnessary for me.
