I am new to the new si's I bought a 07 with 34k. I had a 02 type s before. It's tranny was bad with th normal 2nd and 3rd synchro. Now the si is by far smoother but third doesn't feel as smooth as the rest of the gears. I have yet to have it grind or pop out or snag. Is this normal for a si? Plus once and awhile first won't go in and i have to put it in nuetrel then back in first. I have 3 yrs left on my warranty I just want to make sure it's nothing that will come back to get me.

 

I know the 06's had a problem and a recall. Were all the synchro's fixed in the 07's?

 

there was never a recall, however, there is a tsb out for 3rd gear. the notchiness is normal; if it doesn't grind or pop out, i wouldn't worry about it. the tsb covers up to 08's; however, even if your car doesn't fall in the vin range, you can still get the gear fixed as long as your car is under warranty.

 

Ok so unless it actually grinds or pops out don't worry about it? When you say vin range is there some were I can find that?
