Default Suspension problem.. help!!

So I took my 99 Integra to Firestone so they could get it alligned, because of the recent drop I made on it. And it turns out I need a camber kit, lowering arms, etc etc etc... which turns out to be over 2000 dollars!!! So now I have to ride with uneven tires. All because I droped it. Does anybody know if I really need all that stuff? If not, then where can I get it alligned.

Well theres a sticky at the top of this forum that says you do not need camber kits. Just go to another shop I guess.

go somewhere else where they will zero your toe as close as possible. if they say you need camber kits, refuse and go somewhere else.

firestone is doing what they are told to do; adding sells on top of an already guaranteed sale.

You don't need a camber kit or lowering arms, all you need to make sure is that your toe is zero'd out, keeping it from pulling. Yes, your tires are going to wear uneven aka inner will wear slightly faster than the outer and its not really a problem. Go take your car anywhere you feel comfortable spending your money, actually just give it to me.

What they told you is completly false.
2k for what!? Camber kits, even with install shouldnt even cost half of that, 2,000 is totaly insane.

Read the thread on top, This should explain it all to you. You dont need a camber kit, and unless your runing a large amount of negative camber the entire tire still touches the ground, opposed to what most people will say. Your tires will eventually wear but not very quickly. I have been lowerd for a year without an alignment, ( i know, stupid) and my tires are hardly wearing.

Tell them to set the toe at OE spec, and dont touch anything else. Negative camber issnt such a bad thing either, It can help with handling.

Don't go to a chain, they're usually idiots who have no problem selling you parts that you could get elsewhere for a tenth of that cost, with a straight face. Shop around, you can find them. Buy the parts yourself, install the parts yourself, take the car to a local well established, trusted "alignment only" shop. There's at least one everywhere. They should have no problem making the proper adjustments for the labor costs only. (That is if you don't have the gauges, tools and knowledge to do it yourself.) They may even let you watch, and you may learn something you didn't know. Speaking for myself, I'm too cheap to ruin perfectly good new tires for lack of proper alignment. Some say you don't need all "that" stuff. They're right, you don't. Yes, the car will roll down the road without it. It just won't do it optimally, and isn't that what its all about?
