Default Engine missing when its cold???

I'm having a problem with my 94 ex automatic (d16z6). I don't know if this is the right spot for my post so feel free to move it if need be. Now, on to my problem. I have recently done a lot of maintenance to my car. At the time the motor had about 145,500 miles on it. New battery, radiator, thermostat, hoses, timing belt and all accessory belts. A compression check was done prior to the work to insure the internals (Don't remember the exact numbers, but it was between 155 and 165 across the board). After the compression check, the distributor went out on me, so it was replaced. An oil and filter change along with a new tranny fluid also followed. Before all the maintenance the car sat for about 10 months, being started a couple times a month until the battery would no longer hold a charge. This was part of the reason for all the maintenance. I started driving the car and for the past month and half or so it has driven perfect. Starts right up every time, idles great, very responsive. Lately, however, I've been having an issue when its cold (and only when its at less than normal operating temp) that the motor feels like its not making power. Give it a little more gas then it seems to "break up" and finally will operate normally. Once the car is at normal operating temp, everything is fine. It's just when the motor is cold. Thinking it was the fuel filter getting clogged with all the old gas finally working its way out of the system, I changed the fuel filter, plugs, and wires. Unfortunately that didn't fix the issue. The motor now has about 148,000 miles on it. I'm banging my head against the wall trying to figure this out. If anybody has had any similar issue or knows what the problem might be, please let me know. This car is my daily driver and I'd hate for something little to grow into something big and expensive. I apologize for the long write up, but I wanted to give you as much info as possible so that we can cancel out any obvious possibilities. Thanks in advance!

36 views and nobody has any insight? If anybody has any ideas or has experienced anything similar please feel free to help out. I know it's not a "serious" problem, but it is annoying at times and I'm afraid that if it isn't addressed soon it could lead to something worse and/or more expensive. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks

u could try checking the engine temp sensor. i know sometimes when they go bad the car can start to run very rich (meaning sending more fuel) in some cases when u shut engine off at normal temp it wont start until its fully cooled. i would check to see if u are getting any black smoke when u open the throttle.
