I was driving my 93 accord today & hit a large bump while accelerating. The radio & dash kit fell out of the dash. When I put everything back together... the radio & the cig lighter are no longer working. I did a search on this & the only thing I found was to check fuses. I checked all the fuses. Both inside the kick panel & in the engine bay. I also confirmed my 12v constant (mem+) & ground in the radio harness was working. However, I am not getting 12v ignition when the key is turned on. I am not getting power @ any of the wires in the lighter plug either. Are there any other fuses under/in the dash that would cause this? Any other ideas?

 

Look for ACC. relay, [below radio] some older Honda/Acura used an ACC. relay, it is possible, if you have one, that it was unplugged when HU fell out of dash.

Also recheck the fuses, if you are just eyeballing them it is not good enough, you must test or replace with new or known working fuses.

This time when you install the HU, install a back support, it is so easy on a 93 Accord I am surprised it was not done. 94

 

Cool.. thanks. I'll check for that relay. As far as the back support. I intalled the radio myself using an old dash kit I had from another car. I dont have any support to put in there. I guess I could use a backstrap but never got around to doing it. This is my beater so there are some things that i havent gotten around to yet.
