Stripped Upper Control Arm Bolt Doing Camber (Washer) Adjustment 96-00
I was using a third washer and a longer bolt M10 x 1.25 x 40mm flanged, 10.9 grade. The bottom one went in just fine and I went to put the upper in and it was not going in very easily and I was just slowly getting it in using maybe 35 lb ft of torque or so to spin the bolt. And about half way before the head of the bolt reached the upper arm it wouldn't go any further so I said screw it and took it out and was going to see how well the original bolt would fit in the same spot (how many turns) and determine if it was safe to do that. So I torqued the bolt down... After about 30 lb-ft (I was going to 32 like I did before, I see the Helms says 29 now) it keeps turning without the torque really changing, then just spin easy. :FUUU: stripped.
I guess I'm not the only person having trouble with a longer bolt: https://honda-tech.com/forums/suspension-brakes-54/washer-trick-help-bolt-wont-go-all-way-2407502/
Pulled it out... Yeah I took the threads with me. Right now I took all the washers out on both sides and am using the original bolt and it's grabbing on to threads past where it stripped out so I think it's safe to be drivable, although I have to say I don't really feel like risking it, I'm going to see what my options are on Monday at a local shop. I'm guessing I should have it rethreaded with bigger threads or maybe I can just tap the M10x1.25 all the way and use the longer bolt? I don't think a helicoil type solution is a great idea for suspension parts....
Any advice?

FWIW, no washers was about -3.2*, 1 washer was about -2.7*, 2 washers was about -2.2*, I figured 3 would get me about where I want to be at and call it good...
M10x1.25 tap did it. w00t. I can just use the longer bolt now.
I feel safer now
I hope the other side doesn't give me any issues. At least I know I can use a tap if it doesn't go all the way in.
I had to mod the tap by cutting it so the arms to spin were shorter so it fits in the small area. Also had to take off the UCA. Everything seems ok now :D
Edit: other side gave no problems, using all 40mm bolts now, all torqued to precisely 30 ft lbs. Assuming my measurements are good the rear camber is sitting almost exactly at -1.50*. Skunk2 Pro+ Camber Kit should arrive early next week in time for SCCA Solo event next Sunday.

My friend had the same sort of issue,
He just decided to use 3 washers on a grade 10.9 stock length bolt.
When i tried mine i also had the same issue as you did, and did the same to fix it.

Considering how little threads there were when the end stripped out, I would definitely use a tap and use the longer bolt. The tap was actually pretty simple and didn't give me much trouble at all.
