Default 97 prelude shift ****

okay, i know this may seem like a retarded question, but i'm an idiot when it comes to anything mechanical (except building pcs, which I don't anymore since switching to MAC).

anyway, if i want to change my shift **** on my base model, manual transmission Prelude, do I only have to twist the **** off and twist another back on?

The previous owner had this tall, ugly wood **** and i'm about to change my radio head unit so i can use a USB thumb drive. that shift **** is so tall and clunky, i just see it being a problem with my new head unit.

Yes, although sometimes there is a set screw to hold the shift **** in place. Otherwise just pull down on the shift boot to unclip it and unscrew the ****.
