Default 96 V6 Swap Question

I've been reading around on other threads and fourms, and I've never found a clear cut answer, and before I get started, I would like to have some advice to throw around.

Will a prelude h22a fit in the v6 c27a, or would it be better to buy another accord and have a easier time with this swap. I've read something about these cars being related "touring cars" and having a transmission configured so the axles pass in front of the engine, making it a mid-engine car.

Any input will be appreciated, thanks

I'd get one thats already 4 cyl if I was you.I imagine that swapping in a H22 into a V6 accord would be lots of work because you'll be cutting, and changing mount brackets and lots of wiring. The C27 is Motor then tranny going left to right while the 4 cyls are Tranny then motor.

why not swap a J motor in there? it definately fits and if you pick the right one......you will get way more power than a H22a would give you.....

to put the h22 in you would just need the body mounts and lower subframe from a 4cyl and rewire the harness (the headach part )

I would personally just do a J series swap if you already have a V6. I have the same motor and It almost a direct bolt up to a J from the C. J30's are gonna be your best bet if you go that way. They are easier to find parts for and cheaper then going with the J32 or J35.

Have you tried to stick a J-series motor in a 94-97 Accord? Those engines are much taller than the 90-degree C27 V6, will it clear that low hood?

The engines in the V6 accord have different mount locations. The engine bays of those cars are also laid out different. I have heard of people mounting 4 cylinder engines in those cars to make them mid engine, but that involves some fabrication. You have to fabricate mounts. If you want an H22 accord you are better off finding a shell or one with engine problems and swapping it.

It should clear the hood with no problem.
