wuzzup yall.. today when i turn on my hatch in the morning to go to school, it started idleling like ****,, well not exactly but the exhaust sounded kind of weird it sounded like a subaru motor ,and i got a check engine light on .. so i plug in the scanner to the diagnostic link and the scanner showed one code, i dont remember the code but it say that i had a misfire on cylinder number one,, so i replaced all the sparkplug wires , and the spark plugs and still does that .. ohh it does that only in the mornings when the engine is cold.. my car is a 98 hatchback stock single cam Y7 ..
Can someone help me out here?? any idea why is my car doing this only in the mornings... what do i need to replace now.??

it doesnt have this problem if you start it at night time? maybe its not a morning person...i misfire in the mornings...jk

i had a similar problem it ended up being the injector not working

i would also swap in a known good distributor and see if that helps

 

Have you check your distributor? Is it sending power to the cylinder?

 

no i havent,, ill see if one of my friends has a spare distributor so i can swap it n see

 

Swap out the distributor and let us know what happens. Maybe condensation is building up in the dist. overnight causing the mis-fire?

 

I had this happen to me once. Started tha car and it sounded like a subaru, check engine light came on and a damn rat or squirel ran out from under my car, popped the hood and it had chewed thru one of my injector wires!!

 

Mine did it in the morning also, after a few months I started to smell antifreeze from the exhaust but no smoke whatsoever. Turned out it was a small leak in the head gasket, got it replaced and problem was taken care of.
