Default Wet won't start 97 Accord

My daughter has a 97 accord, the car works great.......if we get a heavy rain, it will not start.
Turns over, but won't even try to start.
She can park the car at night, it rains , no start in the morning...........let it sit for the day after it stops raining.....starts and works fine.
I've checked the cap, wires, soaked all the wires with silicone spray, doesnt seem to help.
Any ideas of what else to check or do ?
Thanks

I had the same problem with mt 94' EX. Whenever it rained it wouldn't start. Then the starter went from cranking it so much($105) the shop I took it to told me I needed a main relay ($70) plus $347 labor. Then I replaced both battery cables ($32 & $64). I still had the problem. Turns out it was a bad engine computer it took me months to figure it out. I got a used one on Ebay for $42 and never had the problem again. Look under the glove box for two blue plugs, pull the one with two wires in it, unbend a paper clip and stick one end in each hole, turn key to 2, If it's an automatic the D4 light should give one long flash and four short ones (code 14 faulty ECM). Good luck

My 98 Accord EX too! She's been well-maintained and has treated me well in return--- all of these years. My amazing mechanic has been stumped too. But I still want to know WHY the computer fails when it rains... sooooo strange. Thanks for your post. My "Penelope" is going to make it past 200K!
