Clutch cable problems?
I just put a new clutch from a hydro tranny in my cable d16. WHen I first took it out for a testdrive, it was great... the engagement was normal, and the clutch caught and grabbed nice and hard. Now though the engagement is almost at the floor, and it feels like the clutch isnt engaging all the way or something. I checked under the hood, and it seems that the clutch cable is loose where it goes into the firewall (can pull it out about 1/2 - 1 in). Whats going on? Any ideas?
look on the front side of your tranny and you will see a place with a lever that moves up and down. Right above that lever is a **** where you can adjust the throw of the clutch. When you start to tighten it feel under the lever and you will feel a piece of the cable. When if has just a little play then that is the correct setting. If you get it too tight then your clutch is ride and not disengage all the way.
