Front Wheel Noise
When I turn left now I can hear a ticking noise from the driver side front wheel. Sounds like something is vibrating against the brake plate shield. I looked under but I didnt see anything that looked out of place. Not sure what the problem could be but suggestions will be helpful. Thanks.
My axles aint that old though. Less than 20K at least. I'll have to take a closer look again and post pictures. Too make it a little clearer on the noise, everytime the wheel turns left the noise occurs. So the faster I turn the more I hear it.
Alright I went to take a closer look and looks like its vibrating somewhere in the engine compartment NOT the wheel. The noise sounds like when the heatshield is loose, I'm sure you guys know how that sounds. BUT no heatshield is loose. I also noticed my transmission dipstick was gone, wtf, how does that happen. I'm gonna drain the fluid to make sure nothing got in there. If the fluid was low would that sort of noise occur? Because I still dont know why the noise only happens when the turning left though?
definetly 100 percent drivers side cv joint . bet it is only when you are practicly on full lock and the veh is leaning over with all the weight transferrd onto the drivers side . about £30 and a bit elbo grease to fix. to test, drive the veh in a circle steering left hand down full lock , the cv joint will repeatedly click away if it is faulty .
