Default problem with edelbrock tb...

like title says im having a idle problem with my 65mm edelbrock tb. I just swaped everything from my obd2 gsr tb to my edelbrock tb like the map sensor, tps sensor, and tb gasket when i first put it on the car idled around 2-2 and half then we put on a fast idle and it made the idle go down to 1-1 and half still too high. i thought it was the tps but when i put my gsr tb back on it idle at 800 which is right on point. Could it be the tb gasket all the hoses are hooked up right too need some help thanks.

it does sound like its vacuum related. did you try messing around with the idle air screw (if it has one) ? if you have coolant running to the throttle body i would check for any air that might be left in there. maybe some trapped air bubbles. also, did you adjust the TPS while using a multi meter, sometimes it makes it that much easier. if you replaced both the TB gasket and MAP sensor o-ring then there should not be any leaks.

...sounds leak around the TB... try spraying a small amount of carb clean around the TB gasket, and hear for idle change..?? just a thought

It needs to be adjusted properly. You cant expect to just slap it on and go. Assuming you have the tps set correctly, this is what I do to adjust the idle speed:

1. Warm up the engine.

2. Set the idle speed to 850 rpm and move the duty cycle adjustment to the middle.

3. Unplug the idle valve.(you may have to give it alittle gas and let it idle down slowly to stay running)

4.Adjust the bypass screw until the engine runs at 450 rpm. If you can not reduce the idle to 450 rpm, then you have an air leak. Fix this before proceeding. If the engine will not run with the idle valve disconnected then your bypass port is clogged. Fix this before proceeding.

5.Plug the idle valve back in.

6.Clear the idle valve error. You should now get a smooth idle at 850 rpm.

7.Increase the engine speed to 2500 - 3000 rpm and abruptly let off the throttle. If the engine speed dips below 850 rpm, move the duty cycle slider to the right. If the engine speed hangs above 850rpm for some time, move the duty cycle slider to left.

Some engines prefer 900 or 950 rpm idle speed
