Default Bookler in SpeedNews/Other NASA stuff..

Matt,

What event was that on Page 14? They've got 4 sequential shots of you and a number 111 VW driven by J. Fairfax, coming around a corner and at least one of you spinning out.

On a side note to all, there is mention of NASA-VA and NASA OH/IN teaming up to put in a big event at Beaverun in October of 2003. Any idea what this might be?

NASA publication called SpeedNews, I thought all NASA members got a copy? In anycase, they've got four pictures of your car and this other guy taking a hard right-hand corner, he's on the outside, you inside, he spins out and it looks possibly like you did too, but can't really see. Just curious what it was, there's no captions that I can tell.

I get Speednews, I just haven't seen the new one yet.

That pic had to be from the weekend before Hyperfest at Summit. I was taking a late brake pass on the inside of Jetta into turn 1, and got into some oil that was dropped the previous lap by another car (who went on to oil the entire track and forced them to black flag the race). Anyway, I couldn't slow the car enough because I was sliding, and I clipped his rear right with my front left, which spun both of us. Now I can't wait to see this thing!!!

Your driver side signal light is dangling in the picture.

Yep, I kept going, but by the time I got to about turn 5 the standing black was out because multiple cars had gone off track as a result of the oil down. Then one of THOSE cars that went off cracked his oil pan when he tried to get back on the track, so HIS oil was all over the track too. Eeek!

Eric Rosen's Nissan Sentra is also in here, color photo, Page 9, lower right hand corner.

As far as contacting for subscriptions, this is coming from the NASA HQ, which is also the same address as the San Fran chapter, so here's their number: 510.232.6272.

what about the mention of Corey in the USTCC write up.....
they fialed to mention that the reason the car got around him was because he went 4 off into turn 7
they also failed to mention he was running old Khumos versus new hoosiers

Awww, that's cute. The over-protective crew chief sticking up for his driver! Kind of brings a tear to the eye.....
