Icon2 Rear deck panel recover fabric

Guys,

I have a greenish rear speaker deck panel in my 94 accord. I converted everything to grey but still have this left. As you know the rear deck panel holds the speakers. I want to recover this in grey suede. The panel has the oem old fabric on it. How would I go about covering this with grey suede? I am concerned about the adhesive spray. Anyone do this?

Remove the speakers, Remove the side trim, Remove the third brake light, Rip off the carpet, Apply mat, Apply suede?

Like a padding more or less, I have a feeling if you just use the suede it may look ugly. I was thinking using some carpet matting or similar may smooth out the surface a bit. Carpet is a bit thicker and could hide stuff, suede I'm thinking may be too thin on its own.

It really shouldn't be bad. I believe Andryzzle replaced his deck lid with a different carpet material.
