can you weld Mild steel to 304SS?

i cant find the correct 3 bolt exhaust flange in stainless steel, but i did find it in mild steel. can i weld my 304SS pipe to a mild steel flange? what type of filler rod should i be using?

Yes you can. You need to use a 308 or 309 rod. I know alot of people that prefer mild steel flanges over stainless.

This is pretty common weld when making turbo manifold. Use 309L for filler.
