Whats the best Cams to use?
i have fully built LSVtech motor, compression in the 10s, B16 head. Looking to make at least 500 hp, what cams should i use. I was thinking the Brian Crower stage 2 for boost.
What do y'all think?
What do y'all think?
Sleeved block? Type of IM? What kind of Turbo set up?
I would definitely lower the compression and sleeve/bore the block.
500WHP built wrongly will put a hole in your block.
More info is needed.
closed deck block, compression 10.1, edlebrock intake, fully built b16 head, top mount, 6262 bilet turbo

Turbo set up's respond very well to the GSR exhaust cam, and the ITR intake cam is awesome. With turbo set ups, it's not good to go to aggressive in the cam lobes...BLOX spec A, are a tad bit larger than the ITR, there duration ratio are longer, you want a shorter duration ratio on the exhaust side for sure. You can try the BLOX spec A intake cam with OEM GSR exhaust cam.

Every build is different, I've made decent numbers on those cams on a all motor 81mm GSR 214WHP to be exact, however it all depends on your tune. And you get what you pay for, the cast it self is not the best, they are made in China. If your building an all motor, remember that longer duration cams are good but you also need the displacement. So 84-86mm by 89mm with a stage 2 or B cam will make very good numbers some where around 230WHP-245WHP depending on tune, and engine conponents that aid like a 2.5 exhaust, header, a good manifold, TB, larger injectors 370cc-550cc and a 255 lph FP, at the minimum. TUNE=KEY

Absolutely true, but they advertise and push them to the street cars and mild build motors. And at that point with a 84-86mm bore, i'd rock some toda's or some skunk 2 pro 2's or something
I'm using Skunk2 Pro 2's on my Turbo Ls....hasn't let me down and i'm pushing north of 500whp.
To be honest if I had to do it all over again i'd probably go with Toda's or a set of JUN's. End of the day the cams are only half of the equation...your Tuner is gonna be the one who puts you where u need to be and is thusly the most important part.

How so? Blox B's are comparable to the skunk2 tuner2's. There is a car local that made very good power at low boost. The cam specs arent bad either. This is coming from a guy who has skunk2 cams...
I agree, but we are talking about the Spec B's and the Tuner Stage 2 cams... On larger displacement you want larger cams...for sure! I am a fan of the Pro 2

Thing is bro that the BLOX is a Replica copy of the skunk 2, but with a weaker cast, which means wear issues and sometimes imperfections in castings...So in the end you get what you paid for...you dig!
