Default oil pan help..no, not that kind.

took off my pan, had it tapped for oil fittings..smeared gasket sealant on both sides of brand new gasket...realized i didn't bolt up my oil fittings because i was under the influence of marijuana..proceeded to then install the oil fittings but couldn't because my boy didn't make one of the holes large enough..the pan has now sat overnight leaving the gasket sealant to dry. my question is do i just reapply the sealant on the side of the gasket that meets the engine block again? or do i need to scrape it all off, get a new gasket and do it again?

thanks in advance.

I doubt you can remove the pan without disturbing the seal on both sides. If you can get the new gasket off and clean it (which, with fresh un-heat cycled Hondabond you should), it should be good to go with another application of Hondabond. Just make sure you get the gasket clear of all the old Hondabond.

buy another gasket then if you don't want to go thru the trouble of scraping off the old gasket maker you put on the new gasket.

sure, better yet, dont waste the time applying another coat and slap it on. then do a 3rd-4th gear pull on the high way to make sure everything works properly. vtec should be crazy loud and if the oil light comes on, its just letting you know everything is working properly. good luck.

i hope you know that was sarcasm. dont ask for advice if your arent going to take it. if you are reading this after the 3rd-4th gear pull...LOLOLOL

Son of a bitch man, nah I mean in the back of my mind I knew I was stuck and had to get a new gasket..what can I do right? Wish my boy got the holes right the first time..even more so, I wish I figured out they weren't lined up right before I installed the gasket....new garage rule: no more herb until the work is done for the day.

not really a new rule for non-smokers, but it does make good sense.
