Help with A/C Condenser Fan Motor changeout
I have a 1997 Civic LX.
The A/C compressor will engage and cool for a few minutes before the compressor clutch begins slipping and squealing. My first thought was A/C clutch and/or compressor replacement. However, I backed up and took another look and realized that the condenser fan is not turning.
I went through the troubleshooter and verified voltages and continuity to the condenser fan motor connector.
In looking at the condenser fan assembly there is obviously not much room around it to work. Can I remove the fan motor and leave the fan and shroud in place or does the whole thing need to come out? Does anyone have a diagram or photo showing how to access/remove the condenser fan motor? Everything is so tight, that I am having trouble figuring out where to start. If anyone has done this project before, I would really appreciate any tips.

Figured it out!
Took out the four bolts attaching the fan/shroud to the condenser (BTW, bolt on bottom left is a B#%@H to reach. My arm still hurts.), detached wires and pulled shroud assembly up between high and low pressure hoses. Once it was clear of the hoses, I was able to remove fan blade and fan motor from the shroud. Replaced motor and reassembled. About 1-1/2 hours for this amateur. Unfortunately, I still have problems.
