hey guys im working on a 96 prelude h23a1. Just did the timing belt on it and the main relay blew up. I put another one in and the same thing happened. I obvisouly pluged something in wrong but i have no clue what. Is there a common plug that is misplugged? any help would be greatly appreciatted.

First thoughts... There are not too many wires that will take 100amps without smoking. Make sure the alternator wire isn't shorting on something. Also look for the alt cable being pinched or other wires pinched under the valve cover or between the engine mount.

 

checked alt cables and for any cables pinched in the valve cover didn't see any. Gonna pull the timing cover off again tonight to see if anything is pinched in there.

 

Could the crank sensor cause this? just seen some of the wires are bare.
