Default Wiring Up VTEC

Ok, so I have a 92 Civic Si with a B16 swap. Of course, the car is factory wired for VTEC with the harness and everything, and I am running a JDM P30 ECU which isn't chipped or anything.

I recently picked up a bone stock 1994 Del Sol S (not wired for VTEC, came factory with the D15B7). My question is, if i wanted to put the B16 into the Del Sol, could I just use the engine harness from the Si and not have to worry about wiring up VTEC?

I also know that I'd need Del Sol B series linkage, but this thread is only about the wiring. Thanks.

everything will work perfectly and will not require for you to run vtec wiring if you use the Si harness, only thing you will need is to run a Knock wire to ecu since no civic or delsol came with a knock sensor. and yes a Delsol Vtec B-series linkage is required

*shrug* incorrect ^

op even mentions, if you didn't already know, that the car he purchased is not pre-wired for vtec. sure he can install that vtec harness from the 92, but the sol lacks the vtec wiring in the cabin harness.

Ah, so using the Si wiring harness would NOT make VTEC plug-n-play after all?

pretty interesting because a couple yrs ago i swapped in a obd1 gsr swap into a 93 delsol with a NON-Vtec engine and didnt have to run vtec only knock (which i never ran since s300 was installed). maybe honda did it differently from assembly shop to others but even my 92 lx with a d15b7 has vtec wiring up to the plugs by the battery...not saying its not possible to not have the vtec sub wiring there but i havent run into one without...something new i just learned...

IIRC, only 92 civic, all trim levels came prewired for vtec on the cabin harness.
