Low Fuel Light?
My brother has a 99' ex V6 coupe with 120,XXX and the low fuel light came on when he was low on fuel, like it should have. He has since filled it up and it has not reset. He disconnected the battery but no luck. Any suggestions? Thank you
try tapping on the tank with a rubber mallet to free up the float. may just be stuck. if that helps, add some fuel system cleaner to the tank and that may help keep it from happening again.
sorry, i just assumed that the needle was stuck down too. that's strange that the gauge is reading full (or not low) and the light is on. there may be a problem with the ECM not turning the light off, but it's hard to say without a wiring diagram of the system. try disconnecting the battery again for a longer time, at least 15-20 minutes to see what happens. I almost think that should set a code on an obd II car since the sender voltage is not correct for low fuel readings. sorry i can't be more help. You may have to take it in to an auto electric shop if you can't get it to reset.
