Need transmission advice
I have an 01 Integra LS that needs a new clutch and possibly a new transmission, but I'm not sure.
It grinds into 3rd gear when I shift out of second above about 3500 or 4000 rpm, so I think the syncros are going out. Does this mean I need a new transmission? or can I get a specific part to fix this?
The clutch that's been in the car is a 6 puck and I think it's been hard on the stock LS tranny..
Also, what should I know about built transmissions? I looked at a company online called Quaife, but they sell the parts of transmissions and I really don't know anything about trannys.
and what exactly is this part and what does it do? What does LSD mean?

Sorry for all the questions but thanks for all the help.

You could just replace the synchros in your trans. That would probably be the best thing to do. Your trans is proabably good, so that's what I would do. LSD stands for limited slip differential. Might aswell replace all the bearings in your trans while the case is open to.
Shifting problems are caused by either worn/damaged synchromesh, bent/damaged shift fork(s) or worn/damaged/bent shift linkage.
Most common is either synchro or fork damage, and although not that hard to repair, if you are not familiar with transmissions or have the tools, repairs are best left to a transmission shop or someone who does know and has the tools. 94
