Power but not insane power? Seems like a "eye of the beholder" thing.

I would just get a Golden eagle lsv kit, GSR head for a little higher comp. CTR cams, Skunk2 or other manifold, some 370cc injectors and a good tune.

let me warn you. Turning those stock bottom end lsv's to 8500+rpm creates metal confetti bombs.
Just get a GSR.

search, search and more search. then you will find what you need.

but seeing as you said you are not familiar with honda's i say take it to a shop. otherwise i think we will be hearing back from you with "how do i fix this on my lsv?"

ok heres my thing. I want reliability more than anything,i mean an extra 30-40 hp and i just wanted vtec. i dont wanna spend crazy amount of money and the reason i got an ls its because i got it for real cheap. i heard lsv's arent very reliable,is this true?or can they be built pretty reliable for a daily driver?

built and stock are 2 way different things. Personally I dont have faith in stock bottom end lsv builds. I prefer ARP rod bolts, King or ACL race bearings, ARP main studs, ARP head studs, etc

Put it this way, it goes for any motor.

Build it and do it right. Then you won't have any problems.

My stock lsv has been running in my car and I'm daily driving it everyday. I've had the motor in my car for 4-5 yrs now. And aside from regular maintenance I haven't had ANY problems.

my bottom end in my ls/v is still stock and it has always ran strong for me and is my DD. granted i never push it past 7500 rpms, but when i want it to move hard it moves, but my suggestion would be to build up the bottom end for sure, but i mean if your just wanting a little power and really dont have plans to run it hard, then you should be fine.
