Default 2002 Ep3 Engine Ticking Sound

hey guys, so first off, i own a 2002 ep3 which I bought back in december of 2009 @ 77k miles. I have changed the oil every 3k miles at a local mechanic shop.

Today, I jump started my brother's car because his civic died, but as I was attaching the jumper cables, i heard a ticking sound in the engine to the left of the headers. The sound isnt low, nor is it high, but it is very noticeable. Everything is stock on my car and I don't have a heavy foot. Anyone else have the same problem or is able to help me out here? I really want to know what it is. Thanks.

The ticking could also be from the fuel system. Otherwise, check valve clearances. Checked mine at 70k and again at 150k and everything was stool in proper adjustment.
