1996 Honda Accord Ac Problem
My friends mom had over $1,000.00 worth of work put in to this ac, when it is hot outside it can take anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes to cool down. It was 75 degrees and the static pressure was about 75 psi. With the car running the low side was reading about 40 psi, not sure what high side was but can check and post in the morning. If anyone can help with any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
assuming you have a normal working system, when running your low side should be about 30-40 psi and high side should be 200-250 psi. Normal working is meant as correct oz of freon (should be 22 oz of 134a)
when you say the mom had works put on the car...was it properly vacuumed (to rid of moistures and airs in the system) then tested for leak? (losing vacuum)

She had it done at a shop and they told her they pulled a vacuum on it and tested it for leaks. Should i try to put some freon in it at this point, it is blowing about 52 degrees when it is 75 outside , but she says on hot days it takes 20 to 30 minutes for it to cool down.
make sure it wasn't overfilled. i don't see how if it's pushing 40 psi on the low side. make sure there is a problem... it could be her thinking that it takes a long time. i'm not judging her though!

if you are unsure as to what the level of refigerant and oil is, evacuate the system with a vaccum pump and recharge to the correct level of oil and refigerant.
and yes the green die is used for checking for leaks

example: discharge the system, switched out condenser/accumulator(drier)/expansion valve/orifice tube, pulled evaporator from behind the glove compartment and make sure of smooth air flowing and making sure that her heater control valve is all the way close?
and most importantly....is her A/C compressor clutch kicking in?
