Make sure that the Check Engine light illuminates for about two seconds and then shuts off when you turn the key to position II ("on"). If the light comes on and never shuts off, your ECU is not getting power.
Does the starter crank the engine?
If it cranks, the first step to diagnosing a no-start in these cars is to remove the oil cap and look inside while someone else cranks the engine to see if the rocker arms are moving. If they do not move, the timing belt is broken. If they do move, check for sparks at the spark plugs. Remove a plug and reinsert it into the end of the plug wire, then hold the protruding ground electrode against a bare piece of metal somewhere in the engine bay (a valve cover bolt works) while someone else cranks the engine. Look for a strong blue spark. If you have no spark or weak yellow spark, you have worn ignition components (cap, rotor, wires, plugs) or a bad ignition coil or distributor ignitor.
In most cases with internal-coil Honda distributors, a car that cuts out while driving and will not restart has a bad ignition coil. The coil can fail on its own (they commonly do), but it can also be overstressed by poor-quality spark plug wires, corroded or worn wire terminals, worn-out cap & rotor contacts, or worn out spark plugs.
