Turbo-boost CR-V 4WD transmission?
I have a 2000 CR-V with the original B20Z block and original 4WD automatic transmission.
I'm considering a turbo boost kit; aside from all the engine considerations, does anybody know how that might affect the original 4WD transmission?
This will be for strictly suburban use, and the turbo will probably only be used to get on the freeway, and leaving my house, which requires turning onto a 60 mph 2-lane highway, going uphill, from a full stop.
Should I consider another alternative for reliability/longevity/safety's sake?

If you aren't going for huge power and are doing just a simple "complete" bolt on kit, there really shouldn't be anything you are planning to throw at it that the transmission couldn't handle. Granted, the Honda autos have never had a reputation for being stout or beefy, but if you are conservative with your tune, you should be alright. The 5-speed would be able to handle quite a bit more, though. Just saying.
Thanks for the info. I'm not going for huge power boost; although most of the bolt-on kits are talking in the neighborhood of 350 HP. That's quite a kick up from the original factory spec of around 140.
I'd like to check out a 5-speed, if I'm changing some things out anyway. Is there a particular 5-speed that's a good choice for that engine & frame?
