Default NEED CAMSHAFT opinion want to chage cams b16 anyone to sell?

Hi guys!!!

I am really happy with this forum thanks to all of you I been learning a lot about my b16

I have right now ITR intake cam only

I want to change cams to reach 170whp or more
I´m a daily driver

My car pulled 163whp with oem rev limit and 165,3whp with 8500rpm rev limit

I want to know if with crower stage 1 cams I will reach even exceed the 170whp or I will need to get stage 2s

my intend is not to spend a fortune of money cause I live in Argentina and build a car is really expensive in here so I want something reliable!

with stage 2s do I definetly need cam gear or oem timing is ok???? I already have springs that I changed when I did port & polish head work I installed the CTR valve springs on the intake side and the b16a intake springs I put them on exhaust side.

Is it safe that way to use stage 2 cams or I must stick to stage 1 cams?

You have been an inspiration for me!!! you cant get an idea of how much I learnt reading from you!!!

go with the tuner stage 2's or pro1's.. you'll need to upgrade valvesprings tho.

I'm also thinking Skunk stage 1 tuner cams at least if not the Skunk tuner stage 2's. Because of where you live being so expensive to be trying a lot of parts, I wouldn't be brave enough (personally) to try the pro 1's. I have no experience with the pro 1's on a b16a so I don't know how well they'd actually do. If you went with the tuner 2's or pro 1's you'd need to upgrade your valvesprings again.

ALL MOTOR and 00Red SiR thanks BOTH for your opinions.

exactly, where I live it is really expensive you dont get an Idea of how much expensive so I must be wise when building
I don´t want to use Cam gears, that is why I was asking if crower stage 1 or skunk stage 1 will do their job???
I´m in the final line!!! a few more ponies and I am in the 170whp b16 jeje daily driver car!!

or maybe crower stage 2, on their web they say that with oem CTR springs there are no problem

I would (and have) personally go with the Skunk over Crower and you will need adjustable cam gears to get the most/best performance out of those cams, even on stock valvetrain.

stock bottom end B16's like short duration, high lift cam profile is my experience.
So buddyclub 3+, brian crower stage 2 or skunk2 pro 1 would work well for your setup.
Buddyclub 3+ made 173whp in my b16a without tuning cam gears.

173whp????? that is a hell of power!!! I want to get that power!!!

what else mods do you have??

I´m in 163whp

00_SiR I saw in crower web that stage 2s from them I dont need springs (I anyway bought springs for the intake and put the oem b16 inner springs on exhaust side

so now my inquiry I think it is between skunk2 s1 or crower s2

profile from skunk2 s1 are better than crower s1 but a little less than crower s2...

soooo I am stilll deciding!!!

Blox Bs are a cheap alternative to those cams if money is really a concern.

Other mods were:
0.020" milled head, edelbrock performer X, 68mm tb, dented hytech tri-y header, 2.5" exhaust, shortram+velocity stack and supertech valvesprings/retainers. Had een huge dip around 7000rpm, switched to a SPfab toda header and it felt much better, but hadn't dynod it after the header switch. Camgear tuning would have helped for more power, but I'm now building a B18c engine.

He'd need more of a valve spring than he has now to handle those cams.
