Default just purchased 97 civic EX coupe (EJ8)

very newb question, but i recently purchased a 97 civic from an older older guy, does this mean i have the D16y8 motor? How can i tell if its a Y8 head, since he's had it for about 5-6 years i'm pretty sure he didn't do an engine swap but maybe the guy before him? Like i said just wondering how i can tell if i i have Vtec or not so i can further my plans for the car

A ex would have a d16y8 in it, On the front of the block kind of under the rad hose there is a stamp that will tell you, its true vtec in a sinle sucks.
You will also be able to see the vtec solinoid by the dizzy.
