Default Alarm for 89 CRX

I'm proud to say that I've finally decided to sell my 95 del sol and bring my crx back to life after being stored for over a year. I've got it alive and running, but I want to put an alarm on it due to an increase of break-ins where I live.

I've looked around quite a bit but I've not come to a solid conclusion.

My first priority for the alarm is that it has a 2-way transmitter. All of the other extras don't concern me as much. I'm also hoping to spend around $150, excluding the cost of installation (I'd prefer a professional do the install for something of such importance to me).

Anyone have any suggestions or personal experiences they'd like to share?

Scytek Astra 777 <--- click here

i bought that alarm a week ago, it came with a wiring diagram for my 88 CRX, it was SIMPLE to install and for the price you can't beat it, it's a great alarm

i love eBay just as much as the next guy but i just don't trust a no-name alarm.

i would get something made by directed electronics (viper, clifford, hornet, etc). the slightly older 2 way paging alarms can be had for around 150 or so. ex. viper 791xv

A no name alarm? Idk where you live but around here scytek is HUGE. They are a very well known and good brand alarm. All of my vehicles have had scytek. But i do agree, directed is the ****, on ebay the viper 350r and the 5002 can be had for $150-$180.

yea i have never heard of scytek before..

it honestly looks just like every other sub $100 alarm on eBay.

now does it work? i'm sure it probably does. but i'll stick with Directed products.

Thanks for the replies. The alarms that I was primarily looking into were the Viper alarms. I saw Scytek on ebay but I felt the same way, with it being an "off brand." I just figure that skimping out too much on the alarm hardware wouldn't be a great idea.
