So my electronic power steering squeaks like hell, and Im wondering what the problem could be, and if there is a simple fix. Its electronic so obviously its not going to be as easy as pouring some of the "no squeak" power steering fluid in. I was told by the guy at schucks that it could be the power steering belt.

 

lol, p/s belt. the k-series only has 1 belt correct? a serpentine belt. what kind of squeak? like creeking when you turn the wheel?

 

Yeah power steering belt didnt sound right to me either.
But the sound is a creaking type sound and it sounds like its coming right behind the dashboard

 

Is your car pretty low? I'm assuming it is, and that my friend is your problem. It is a common problem in EP's and DC5's to get steering rack creak when the cars are too low. Raise it up and see if the noise goes away.

Try searching, I think there is a few threads on this but I am not positive.

 

Yeah my car is low, but it was doing it before it was low as well.

 

Go to ephatch and do a search they have a couple of DIY threads on how to help fix it
