The ITB's are confirmed straight from OBX that they are a new product for the H23 non-vtec.

he used the flange and many other parts off the oem im

im sure that im above would hold up alot better than a ebay unit
the welds look good and the oem flanges are stong....

but a big im like probally wont work for many n/a apps
but you could lower the volume and make the runners a bit longer
w bigger velocity stacks and probally have a good n/a manifold
it is all in how you want to custom make it

Show me where then. You must be confusing it with a cheap obx hunk of crap. I hand made that in my shop and it is properly designed for an turbo application. I think that a custom intake manifold has a greater potential than ITB's that is the only reason that I mentioned it. There is a guy on prelude power named goldraylude that is haveing pretty good luck with the obx itb's but I think he could do better with a custom i/m and an 80 or 90mm throttle body. itb's dont have a plenum for pulse tuning.

Yes, I know. That is why you use a smaller plunum, add some velocity stacks and adjust the runner length according to the operating rpm range. A custom intake manifold can be taylored to the users needs. That is why it is called custom. I was just showing that there are other options that are not sub par quality, like most of OBX's products, or modified stock I/M.

its gonna be lighter than a stock im but its only gonna be purely for hp gains. its gonna kill throttle response because it has no flow at all, have it flow tested before you start producing them. looks like a nice piece though

 

I recently located a shop that has a flowbench. It will be tested soon. I am less worried about the forced iduction model but the n/a version will definitely be fully tested.

it really depends on alot of things i have ran thesse itb's on a h22
but im haveing other motor comprssion issues to actually
find out if they are better than the euro r im i did have,,,,,,,,


look at the fast all motor guys like bisi....some rune itbs some run custom
style im's.....both are sweet....but all set-ups itb's or custom im's have to be
tailored to the exact set-up custom style ****......and all the big name companys like rlz/endtne want alot for a custom im set-up and itbs's they want even more.....


for a drop in set-up not custom the obx itb's get-it done.....there are better more expensive options and maybe even a few cheaper who knows

It is hard to build a custom aluminum manifold for under $500. It is $18 for runner tubing, $40 for the plenum, $50-75 for a stock unit to cannibalize, $160 for 4 velocity stacks, $10 for stainless hardware, $15 for IACV plate, 15 for fuel rail plate, and $3 per vacuum fitting about $21. This brings the total to $329-354 before I cut, grind, machine or weld anything. Then you tack on about 3 hours of custom machine work and 3 hours of tig welding. No wonder companies charge $650+ for these and still make nothing for the h23's. I would like to build another to show off but I am not going to use it andd it costs too much money. I already have one. Unless someone is going to buy one there will be no further intake manifold fabrication until I build another motor.

 

im not concerned about making more power with my cammed h23 the purpose of this thread was to share with the HT community that there is a obx h23a1 itb setup and to see if anybody has them. Im happy with my custom double stack manifold. But typical hotshot ht members chime in with there bling bling manifolds and jingo jango about crap that is not relevant to the op.

they are for any h22 head vehicle
