How to: del sol rear compartment and fuel pump removal [26 pics]
easy enough but I couldnt find a guide so I though Id make one
tools needed for compartments:
-standard size philips screw driver
-flat head screwdriver for prying
-piece of cloth
-optional 12mm socket for seats
tools needed for fuel pump:
-pliers
-10 and 17mm sockets
personal trunk removal

first take a seat out. Its not neaded but it will make it A LOT easier
its held in by 4 12mm bolts

next remove these 4 screw
theres 2 on each side in the same location

and 1 screw in the cup holder

pry it off with a flathead
I used the cloth so it doesnt scratch anything

disconnect the cigarette lighter

pull it off with the ebrake engaged

then roll down the back window and pry it off from the top
try to pry on both ends at the same time so it doesnt crack or anything

all off

then theres 2 screws holding on each speaker grill

disconnect the speakers
pull it off after

remove the 2 screws on the bottom of the bins, 1 on each side

and 2 in each bin
so 6 total holding the bins

pry it off
I started at the top and worked my way around to the bottom

some more prying

all gone

Fuel pump removal
remove the 4 screws holding the cover plate on

I cringed when I opened it up, soo much rust, hopefully yours isnt so bad
I had to chisel all the rust off then hammer a 10mm socket on the 6 main bolts, remove these

relieve the gas pressure from were you pump gas
nowuse a 17mm socket to take the banjo nut off, be CAREFUL not to lose the 2 copper gaskets
use a rag to collect any gas

disconnect the electrical connecter on the back left
and use a pair of pliers to remove the hose on the right

pull the pump out slowly, the filter might catch on the tank

looks cool

new walbro 255lph on and old fuel pump next to it for comparison

good idea to replace those 6 bolts

installation is the opposite of removal
