Default What is your take on lightweight pully kits?

Anyone have experience with lightweight pully kits? How do you like it? Anything to be aware of if changing to a lightweight kit? Pros? Cons?

you might get 5 more horse. I would save my money for some other mods. If you want to do anything noticeable to the car you have to spend more money then 300 dollars.

Don't do the crank pulley if you get them. The crank pulley is weighted to balance out the engine, with the lightened pulleys they aren't weighted which could cause internal engine damage. I know some people will get the alternator, water pump, and tensioner pulley I believe.

QFT

You could possibly cause some serious damage with a non-balanced crank pulley. The rest is just for looks, so if you like to open your hood a lot and like seeing anodized colors go for it.

get them if you want to unlock a couple of ponies. All it does is reduce the drag on the crank. I wouldn't say the crank pulleys will necessarily cause "internal engine damage" aka crank walk / spun bearing, but I would advise against it until you've looked up the particular one you're getting.

For the Prelude, Unorthodox Racing (UR) crank pulleys were shown to cause spun bearings etc. because it didn't have a harmonic dampener (basically a rubber bushing) which allowed for vibration which led to issues. But if all that was present and it still prevented drag, I don't see why it wouldn't work.
