My car is lowered with maxspeed coils and I didn't upgrade the struts or anything. The sheet recomended that you get aftermarket struts. I was too cheap and didn't want to buy them. Now over every little bump or hole in the road i hear a poping or clanking noise from the left front and sometime on the right. I had my breaks checked a little while back and they heard the noise while driving..and thought it was the upper control arm or A something hitting the fender. I jacked my car up and didn't see any mark or anything on the top of the fender so I don't have any clue what it could be. I was thinking blown out shocks???? Any info would help.

 

Check and make sure the nut on the top of the strut isn't cross-threaded. I had that problem with mine and it was noisy as hell, not to mention dangerous.

 

I think blown shocks as well. -

 

i found out what was wrong with the struts. there was no bump stops.....so i put some one and they are as good as new. the struts wernt blown out.

 

I have no bump stops and mine doesnt do any nosie. But i'll put them in as soon as i get chance .........

 

how low is your car...mine was on last coil in the front so maybe thats why. and when i put them in it raised the car up a lil..

 

I dropped my 95 si 4 inches front and rear used my stock struts and no bushings and i've never had a bad sound come out of it

thats what i was gonna say. mine didnt start making a noise till about 5 months later.
