lsvtec ecu help
Ok so I'm going to be getting a 97 civic dx coupe with a lsvtec setup, it has B18b block, stock internals with a ctr head and b16 lsd transmission. It is running an obd1 ecu with I'm guessing a P28, when I checked the car out I forgot to see what ecu it had and the current owner doesn't know. It also has a cel on so I was going to jump the ecu to see what code it is throwing.
So my question is can I run it on the P28 without it running too lean or rich or should I buy hondata s100 and have that installed and tuned? I plan on keeping it N/A and the car also has an apexi vtec controller.

You can run a p28, but it will need to be chipped and tuned for your setup. If you don't have the means to tune right away, you can order a basemap from numerous places to get you from A to B.
Well the motor was rebuilt 5k miles ago all oem and it has been running with the P28 since then so is it still ok to get the car or could some kind of damage have been done with running it without a basemap or tune?
The p28 is a single cam vtec ecu. Without a chip, you'll be running your motor on a map for a smaller engine. You need a tune to ensure further reliability and optimize power output.
